It’s not every day you see a sea creature beached up on the sand, is it? Especially if you live nowhere near the sea. So just imagine the sheer shock the beachgoers here on this Rio de Janeiro beach would have felt when they witnessed more then THIRTY dolphins washing up on the shore at the same time! The incredible scenes occurred after a heavy tide pushed the dolphins landwards and their struggling back to the water failed.
Luckily for the dolphins, locals and tourists were on hand to help out and grab them by their tails and throw them back into the water before any lasting damage was caused…
This kind of thing isn’t hugely common, but it does happen. Mostly because dolphins are a pack animal and are easily led. Who says they’re that smart, huh?
