When these ice fishermen set up on a frozen lake in Pennsylvania they can’t have expected what was about to happen! As this video shows, when Nicholas Colangelo and his buddy rush to reel in their catch, they pull up something more than a fish! What they caught was instead a red-breasted merganser, a diving duck, who it appears dived under the ice in search of fish and became tangled in the fishing wires.
Praise must be given to Colangelo and his pal, who carefully untangle the bird from the wires, and release it back into the wild.
Colangelo commented “It blew my mind, I couldn’t believe what I saw!” After seeing the video, we definitely concur!
