What ThugBible Is

ThugBible is a community-built slang dictionary. Not a corporate word list. Not an AI content farm. Not a site that exists to rank for keywords and serve ads. It's a living record of how people actually talk — the slang, the phrases, the coded language, the dialect, the cultural shorthand that standard dictionaries miss, sanitize, or arrive at ten years too late.

Every word on ThugBible was submitted by a real person. Every definition was voted on by real readers. A small staff team moderates for quality and safety. That's the whole operation.

Why It Exists

Language moves fast. Slang moves faster. The big dictionaries are too slow, too cautious, and too worried about advertiser reactions to document the words people are actually using. The crowd-sourced alternatives are full of inside jokes, targeted abuse, and entries written by people who wanted to name their ex. Neither serves the person who genuinely wants to know what a word means, where it came from, and how to use it without embarrassing themselves.

ThugBible is the site those people deserve. Fast, real, sourced, honest.

How It Works

Anyone can submit a word or a definition. Submissions go through community voting — readers upvote definitions that are accurate and useful, downvote ones that aren't. The staff team moderates for violations of the Community Guidelines: removing attacks, spam, and anything that uses the dictionary format as cover for harassment. What survives is a genuine record of the language.

Every word page has a definition, example sentences, etymology, FAQs, and audio. Word of the Day puts the best entries in the spotlight. The trending feed reflects what people are actually searching for right now.

What We Stand For

Slang is for everyone. The language of one community becomes the language of the world — AAVE becomes internet English, Cockney becomes global shorthand, drill lyrics become mainstream vocabulary. That spread is worth documenting, not gatekeeping.

Documenting language isn't the same as endorsing it. ThugBible publishes slurs to define them. We don't publish slurs to use them as weapons. We mark words clearly — vulgar, offensive, NSFW — so readers know what they're getting. We have zero tolerance for racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, bullying, and harassment. The language can be sharp. The community has to be fair.

Editorial Independence

Definitions on ThugBible are written by the community and moderated by our team for quality and safety — not for advertiser comfort. We will never alter a definition to make it more palatable to a brand partner. If we ever accept paid placements, they will be clearly labeled Sponsored and they will never appear inside dictionary entries. The dictionary is not for sale.

What We'll Never Do

Sell user data. Run low-quality display ad networks that degrade the reading experience. Auto-generate definitions with AI and pass them off as community content. Sanitize the language to make it safe for brands. Moralize about words instead of documenting them.

Who Runs It

ThugBible is operated by a small independent team. We're not a media company. We're not VC-backed. We built this because we thought it needed to exist.
