Our Commitment

We want ThugBible to be usable by everyone, regardless of how they access the web. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, not a checkbox. We're actively working to improve it and we welcome feedback when something doesn't work for you.

Conformance Target

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA — the current W3C recommendation (October 2023), adopted as ISO/IEC 40500:2025, and the standard referenced in ADA Title III case law. We don't claim full conformance — that would require a formal independent audit we haven't yet completed. We partially conform, with the known limitations listed below.

Scope

This statement covers the main ThugBible.com website — all navigation, word pages, account features, and core functionality. User-generated definitions and comments are excluded from our conformance claim; we can't audit every submission, but we moderate content per our Community Guidelines and remove content that creates accessibility problems where we're made aware of it.

What We've Built In

Keyboard navigation works throughout the site — you can browse, search, and use account features without a mouse. Images include descriptive alt text. Color contrast meets WCAG AA for large text, including our gold (#F2AE26) on black design. Markup is semantic HTML with ARIA labels on icon-only controls. The layout is fully responsive and works at up to 200% zoom without horizontal scrolling or loss of function. Focus indicators are visible on all interactive elements.

Known Limitations

Magic-link sign-in emails may render imperfectly in some screen reader and email client combinations — we're working on improving the template structure. OG share cards (the images generated for social sharing) are decorative and carry no alt text, as they duplicate information that's available in the page text. If you encounter other issues, please tell us.
