Freebander
CB operator using illegally modified out-of-band frequencies.
Definitions
An operator who's hot-rodded their CB radio to transmit on frequencies just above or below the legal 40-channel CB band — typically the 'freeband' between CB (11m) and 10m amateur. Bigger range, juicer signal, totally unlicensed, and an FCC fine if you get caught.

Origin & Usage
American/global CB enthusiast culture from the 1970s onward, as export radios and amplifiers made out-of-band operation trivial.
