Origin & Usage

Acronym for Live Action Role-Playing, the in-person hobby of dressing up and acting out characters (foam-sword medieval, vampire courts, etc.) dating to the late 1970s. Online forums, especially 4chan and Twitter, stretched it into a verb for posting like you're someone you're not.
