peeker's advantage
The edge a moving attacker gets over a static defender, thanks to lag.
Definitions
Because of network latency, the player swinging the corner sees the holder before the holder sees them move. You get killed by someone who, on their screen, is already standing still and aiming at you.
Usually a 40-70ms head start. Doesn't sound like much, but human reaction time is ~250ms, so that gap decides plenty of duels.
peeker's advantage In A Sentence
Origin & Usage
Network-latency phenomenon discussed across Counter-Strike and formalised by Riot for Valorant. Caused by the delay between the peeker's client and the server.
People Also Ask
Can peeker's advantage be fixed?
Not over the internet. It comes from latency, so only a LAN with equal, minimal ping removes it. Devs can shrink it but never delete it.
