A signed-but-not-debuted aspiring idol. Trainees live at company dorms, train in vocals, dance, rap, languages, and media for anywhere from months to a decade before (maybe) debuting. The system is famously brutal — most trainees never debut at all. When fans dig up pre-debut trainee footage of a star, that's the gold.
