Origin & Usage

Started life as 'vaguebooking' on Facebook in the late 2000s — posting deliberately mysterious status updates so people would ask what was wrong. As the action moved off Facebook the verb generalised to 'vaguepost' and now lives on Twitter, TikTok and Instagram Stories.
