Hunting an offstage opponent to kill their recovery before they get back.
Definitions
When you knock someone offstage, you don't sit back and wait, you go out (or sit at the ledge) and attack them so they can't recover. Half of Smash kills come from a good edgeguard, not from raw damage.
It's a whole skill set: reading the recovery, timing the intercept, not killing yourself in the process.
