kill screen
The level where a game's code eats itself and dies.
Definitions
A stage that becomes unplayable because a programming bug or integer overflow corrupts it. The game doesn't crash on purpose, it just hits a number it can't count past and falls apart. The ceiling of the game, basically.
For high-score runners, reaching the kill screen is the win condition. There's no level after it, so the perfect game is whatever score you bank before the code breaks.
