Walking in with full, unbothered confidence — leading with your statement piece and letting everyone deal with it. Bob made it literal, strutting the runway with a handmade purse thrust out front. It's become shorthand for arriving boldly and owning the room before you've said a word. Less an entrance, more a declaration.

“New job, new city, brand-new wardrobe. I'm walking in purse first, baby.”

Origin & Usage

Coined by Bob the Drag Queen on RuPaul's Drag Race season 8 (2016). Bob finished a runway look with time to spare, made a purse with the extra minutes, and walked the runway leading with it — 'purse first.' Bob won the season and has carried the phrase to Broadway bows since.
