Definitions
Moving away from a target while attacking it so it can never close the gap and hit you. The bread and butter of ranged play: you deal damage, it deals none. Named for keeping the enemy on a string like a kite.
Also 'kite back' in teamfights, peeling a diving enemy by walking backward and chipping it down as your team helps.
